Consent to offers and PDPA
Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) treats two kinds of message differently, and so does Tellfox:
| Message | Needs consent? |
|---|---|
| Booking messages: confirmations, reminders, moves, cancellations and package messages | No. They always go with a booking. |
| Offers and news: a service you send them, and coupon messages | Yes, per channel: LINE and email |
No record of consent means no.
See and record consent
Section titled “See and record consent”On the customer page, Permissions (PDPA) shows:
- Booking messages: Always, with each booking.
- Offers and news · LINE and Offers and news · Email: each says “Yes, since” a date, “Withdrawn” a date, or “Not asked”.
A customer told you at the counter they’d like your news? Tap Record that they agreed for that channel. They ask you to stop? Tap Withdraw consent. The buttons show only for a channel the customer has. Tellfox keeps who recorded it and when (chosen by the customer, or recorded by the team).
How customers agree themselves
Section titled “How customers agree themselves”The booking form has an unticked box, Send me offers and promotions from (your business). A customer who ticks it agrees for the channel they booked with (LINE or email). Confirmations and reminders come as usual either way.
Customers can stop offers themselves
Section titled “Customers can stop offers themselves”Every offer carries Stop offers from this business. The customer taps it and confirms, and their consent for that channel is withdrawn at once; an offer still waiting to go is not sent. See what they see in Stop offers.
Download one customer’s data
Section titled “Download one customer’s data”A customer asks what you hold about them? On their page tap Download their data (also under the three dots). You get a JSON file with everything about this customer, including their LINE ID, since that is part of what is held. Only the owner can download it.
Delete or anonymise
Section titled “Delete or anonymise”-
On the customer page, open More actions (the three dots) or go to Permissions (PDPA).
-
Tap Delete or anonymise.
-
Confirm “Delete (name)? This can’t be undone.”
- A customer who never booked is deleted completely.
- A customer who booked has their name and personal details removed: name, birthday, notes, tags, phones, emails, LINE, consent, and what they wrote on their bookings. The bookings and amounts stay in your records and read “Anonymised customer”.
- Loyalty forgets them too, and their old member QR stops working.
If they still have a confirmed booking coming, Tellfox says “This customer still has a confirmed booking. Cancel it first.”
